DOCUmentário last man standing

Event concept: why did we do it? what is its purpose?

We created Last Man Standing because we wanted people to have a real experience with the Z2.

The event was designed to push each athlete to their physical, mental, and emotional limits, exactly as we believe performance should be approached.

Our purpose has always been to inspire people to pursue the best version of themselves, and the event embodies this literally: discipline, resilience, overcoming challenges, community, and the constant pursuit of your infinite potential.

Last Man Standing was created to bring people closer to our culture and to show, in practice, what it means to embody the Z2 spirit.

Exam format

All athletes started together to complete the course. Every hour, a new start was given. Each athlete could adopt their own strategy to complete the course.

_____

Whoever finished within the time limit moved on to the next start. Whoever didn't manage to finish was eliminated from the race. The cycle repeated until only one athlete remained standing. The last athlete was the winner.

If the race lasted exactly 24 hours and there was still more than one athlete remaining, a 25th lap would be started, and the winner would be the one who completed the last lap in the shortest time.

Kit collection on the day of the race.

Each athlete had a 2x2 meter space under a tent. Each was responsible for setting up their own resting structure.

It was a self-sufficiency event; everyone brought their own equipment. All Z2 products were available throughout the race.

All Z2 products were available throughout the entire event.

First start at 4 PM.

Upon giving up, everyone would ring a bell and break an egg to the sound of funeral music as a symbol of surrender.

First DNF - 4th lap - Matheus Casero

The laps with the most dropouts were the 8th and 9th, totaling 44km and 49.5km respectively.

During the night and early morning hours, there was a drastic drop in temperature, reaching 8 degrees Celsius.

By morning, the temperature had risen, reaching 30 degrees Celsius.

At 9:00 AM, 11 people completed the 19th lap, totaling 104.4 km. Upon finishing this lap, 4 people dropped out, including Victor Castello Branco.

The last woman to drop out of the race exited on lap 19.

Last Woman Standing, Alic Viana - 19th lap

Valdenir Jandosa stood out in the race, finishing in first place for at least 11 laps.

Early in the morning, Valdenir suffered a fall, injuring himself and requiring first aid from the ambulance during the rest period before the next lap. He continued the race.

Leandro Roberto Fagundes began to stand out when he started to finish in first place in the final laps of the race.

Brendon Bressan didn't stand out at any point in the race, as he never finished among the top runners. However, he showed that he performed well in all of them.

From lap 21 onwards, Humberto Graciano was always arriving 5/6 minutes before the next start.

On the final lap, totaling 132km, there were still 4 athletes: Humberto, Leandro, Valdenir, and Brendon. The 25th lap was then started. The winner would be whoever arrived first.

On the 25th lap, Brendon started in 3rd place, until after a climb, around 2km, he overtook Valdenir and Leandro, opening up a large lead over the two.

Brendon Bressan was the winner of the Last Man Standing. Valdenir Jandosa took second place and Leandro Fagundes third. Humberto dropped out shortly after the start.

Fastest lap

  • LAURINDO - 26:39

Midway through the race, Laurindo completed a lap in 26 minutes and 39 seconds; we thought he had broken the fastest lap record.

  • BRENDON - 26:13

However, on the last lap, Brendon finished in 26 minutes and 13 seconds!

Brendon

"It was based on feeling, the one I used the most was Saltz. I used them all, lol." "I used a lot of 40g caffeine-free gels and only used one Load Up gel with caffeine."

Valdenir

"A mix, with gels, bars, salts, mashed potatoes with shredded chicken, and açaí with fruits that I really like, and lots of water because it was very hot."

Leandro

"On each lap I was drinking about 500 ml of e-liquids, I don't remember exactly which one, sometimes it was water with pink salt and lemon and creatine that my staff was preparing," "sometimes I asked him to make the Z2 power powder, I alternated this hydration on practically every lap, and taking a caffeine-free gel more or less every 3 laps."

"I even had two Cokes, and in the last five laps I started having açaí, I think I had about two cups to clear my head."

"Regarding hydration, it was all a bit chaotic, but I feel it worked out really well. I didn't feel a lack of energy at any time, and I tried to stay very well hydrated. If you need to know about my diet, let me know, and I'll tell you more or less what I ate."

Humberto

With the help of my staff, I divided the test into blocks.
In the first block (4 PM to 10 PM), the plan was to run lightly, hydrate minimally (200–250 ml/h), and alternate carbohydrate sources. In practice, I drank about 500 ml per lap , alternating between Power Powder and water with pink salt, lemon, and creatine. Every 3 laps I took a caffeine-free gel . I felt stable and comfortable.

In the second block (10 PM to 4 AM), the plan was to maintain the pace, stay moderately hydrated, and use caffeine only when necessary. In reality, I followed the same pattern of 500 ml per lap and gels every three laps. I drank two coffees in the early morning to fight off sleep, which helped a lot. Energy levels remained stable.

In the third section (4am to 10am), the plan was to maintain a controlled pace and a stricter sequence of carbs + salts + caffeine. I continued with high and constant hydration, gel every three laps, and used caffeine during this stretch. It was the most mentally challenging period, but nutritionally I felt good the whole time.

In the fourth block (10 am to 4 pm), the plan was to increase the pace if possible and adjust hydration according to the heat. With the strong sun, I started drinking much more water . I had two small glasses of soda and, on the last laps, about two cups of açaí , which helped a lot with focus and mood. Even in the intense heat, I finished strong and without any drop in energy.
